Older vehicle

Valuation of a vehicle over 12 years old in Switzerland

Most online valuation guides stop before twelve years. The owner of an older vehicle may therefore be left without a documented value just when an authority, insurer, notary or accountant asks for one.

Valocar applies no age limit

The Valocar dossier can be produced whatever the vehicle’s model year. The year remains part of the valuation, but it does not prevent a documented dossier from being prepared.

For an older vehicle, precision must be stated honestly

The older a vehicle is, the more its value depends on its actual condition, maintenance and rarity, and the less a statistical calculation can settle it on its own. The dossier states the indicators “Quality of external evidence” and “Valocar method reliability: high” explicitly. From age 16, it can show a wider range without changing the central value and cap quality of external evidence at 40%. A physical inspection can complement the dossier when actual condition becomes decisive.

Add a physical appraisal to the dossier

When actual condition, repairs, maintenance or a rare characteristic becomes decisive, use the pre-appraisal facility already available on the site. The dossier provides a documented basis; the physical examination adds what cannot be established remotely.
